Even though Rhode Island is known as the Ocean State, it does not lack for beautiful beaches. However, none compare to East Matunuck. Located at the very end of the state, East Matunuck State Beach has all the amenities one would expect from a beach, including a snack bar, restrooms, dordle and lifeguards who patrol the beach during the summer months, as well as beautiful dunes and a view of Block Island. Moreover, the Matunuck Oyster Bar, where you can have a dozen oysters and a beverage for lunch, is only a few steps away.
An Overview of Compo Beach
Though there are several beautiful beaches in Westport, one that sticks out is Compo. An expansive sandy beach faces Long Island Sound from this 29-acre park, which also has a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk, pavilions, and a snack bar. There are also two sand volleyball courts for people who want to work up a sweat while having some fun at the beach.
In the vicinity of Harvey's Beach
Those from smaller communities may relate to the sentiment that Harvey's Beach in Old Saybrook is the stuff of fantasies. Visitors may swim, fish, boat, and seek for shells on the sandy beach bordered by beautiful dunes. A small playground, restrooms, and lockers are also available for children.
New York's Rockaway Peninsula
Rockaway Beach is the most accessible beach for New Yorkers. It's a great place to take a break from the city for a swim or paddle out to surf, and it's easily accessible by public transportation. (It's the only New York City beach where surfing is officially sanctioned.)
Where the Coopers Used to Be: Coopers Beach
There isn't a single subpar beach in the Hamptons, but Cooper's Beach has a friendlier, more local crowd. It's a beautiful stretch of beach beside the Atlantic Ocean, and it's close to several great eateries. Better still, it's less crowded than other popular destinations in the area throughout the summer.
Location: The Cove
Cape May's beaches stretch for roughly 2.5 miles, and the greatest thing is that you can walk to many of the area's finest hotels and activities right from the sand (a.k.a. those famous Victorian homes). Although there is more than one beach in Cape May, it is often treated as if there were just one. The Cove is a great spot for a wide variety of beachgoers, from families to lone surfers and kayakers to individuals just looking for a change of pace from the action farther down the shore.

Visit Sandy Hook, located farther north, for a great day at the beach. Once again, the vast area is excellent for water sports including swimming, fishing, and paddling. When you've had enough of the sand, there are miles of trails to explore in the surrounding Gateway National Recreation Area, which includes the beach.
Beautiful Bethany Beach In Bethany Beach, grassy dunes pop up here and there all along the half-mile long wooden boardwalk. Come here to soak up as much sunlight as possible before exploring the neighboring stores and merchants. It's important to remember that dogs, roller skates, and skateboards are not permitted on the boardwalk.
State Park near Cape Henlopen
Located at the tip of Delaware, Cape Henlopen State Park has more than six miles of unspoiled shoreline, including the Point, where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Seaside Nature Center after a day at the beach to find out what kinds of flora and fauna live there.
