I have the same problem with VMware Workstation 10.0.0 build-106002485.exe and the latest Update 1 Build 106001634.x64. Not sure if the incident happened after the update to OS to Windows 10 or any update to other components.
I also tried to correct the contents of my registry using REGEDIT - the software defaults and I selected “Yes” when asked if I want to make a backup.
