If you are involved in the crypto economy, you are well aware of the fact that in this industry, where technology is skyrocketing by engendering state-of-art security measures and trading tools, cybercrimes are also climbing the charts.

So, what kind of security features are available on crypto exchanges to prevent your funds from these malicious activities?

Well! All the crypto exchanges are trying to provide the best-ever security norms, and Robinhood is also one of them. Yes! Robinhood is able to protect your account and provides an extra layer of security by enabling 2-factor authentication.

Now, the question is- Have you got a new tablet or mobile device? I’m asking this because if you are a Robinhood user and want to perform a Robinhood login on your new device, you have to fill in the 2FA verification code first, but only in case when you have enabled two-factor authentication in your account.

How to regenerate your backup 2FA verification code?

While logging in, you’ll be asked to enter the 2FA code, what if you didn’t keep the 2FA verification code while enabling it for the first time? In this case, you can regenerate your code and after entering that code you can accomplish Robinhood login.

Generate code on your old device

  1. Open the Robinhood login page on the app.
  2. Press the icon (represents “Account”) available at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  3. Now, hit the hamburger icon (three bars) to open the menu.
  4. Go to “Settings” and navigate to the “Two-factor authentication” option located there.
  5. And then, you’ll see a button labelled “Regenerate backup code”.
  6. Keep the backup of that code at any secure place for further usage.

On a new device

  1. Firstly, perform the Robinhood login using the email ID and password.
  2. Now, you’ll be asked to enter the 2FA verification code to proceed.
  3. Look for the “Use backup code” link which is available at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap that link, enter the backup code you’ve just generated and proceed by following the prompts.

And, this is all you have to do to get access to your Robinhood account from a new device.

Remarkable point: It is advised to re-enable the 2-factor authentication for security purposes just after getting access to your account.

Final thought!

In the crypto world, security is the name of the game, so make sure that you’ve enabled two-factor authentication on your account to safeguard it. While performing the Robinhood login, if you were not asked to enter a 2FA code that clearly represents that you haven’t enabled the 2FA yet.

In that case, remember that one stitch in time saves nine and security comes first, so enable the two-step verification and provide an extra shield to your account. After that, enjoy the exclusive trading facilities offered by Robinhood and make pretty pennies by investing in digital assets.

Good luck to your crypto journey! Enjoy investing!
