According to the document, Facebook has assembled a team of about ten employees tasked with removing news content from Australia. The team bypassed the existing Facebook database of existing news publishers. Facebook employees quickly created a new algorithm
with news definitions broad enough to pull in a large number of non-news pages. [sic] Content in domains shared on Facebook is classified as news. All domains are considered news domains,” one internal document states.
