Unpublished studies show an increase in extreme events along the coast of Brazil.

The frequency of extreme temperatures almost doubled along the coasts of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul, and nearly tripled in Espirito Santo.

The Brazilian coast, especially the southern and southeastern regions, has already suffered the effects of climate change, with temperatures becoming more extreme over the years and thermal changes becoming more frequent. This is one of the results of an unprecedented survey published last Tuesday (April 25) in Scientific Reports by the Nature group.

On the coasts of Espirito Santo, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo, the frequency of extreme temperatures and heat waves (characterized by consecutive days of recording) has increased over the past 40 years - an increase of 188%, 100% and 84% respectively.  Follow us to find out more /jvf2-3bpt1k
