Telegram removes paid posts from its iOS app due to App Store guidelines

The popular messaging app Telegram has been removed from the iOS App Store for including "inappropriate content" in its paid posts.

According to TechCrunch, Apple pulled the plug after Telegram introduced sponsored messages inside its iOS app in early October. One such message from fashion retailer Mango said: "10% OFF SUNDAYS ONLY". It’s not clear what specifically prompted Apple to remove the app from the store, but it appears that it may not have liked commercial messages in a free messaging service.

Telegram is available for Android and desktop computers, so there is no need to worry about running out of ways to chat with friends anytime soon.

However, it probably won't be a good idea to use the popular messaging app without the iOS App Store in the meantime.
